Nationalism

Nationalism is a political ideology characterised by the idea of a homogenous nation as key value as well perceiving the own nation as superior to other nations. Nationalism developed in the 18th and 19th century initially to create modern nation states. Aggressive and exclusive nationalism can lead to discrimination against people within the nation state who are not considered part of the national community as well as towards other nations.
