No-Go-Zone

Districts or regions that are considered especially dangerous and where the authorities cannot guarantee for everyone’s safety are commonly referred to as “no-go-zones”. Since 1990, the term has been used in Germany to describe certain areas in former East Germany where far-right extremists committed racist attacks. These areas are considered not to be safe for people who due to their appearance, religion or worldview could be victims of racist attacks.
